Primary Recruitment (Recruitment)

Primary recruitment is the big, official experience. It happens once a year in the fall, with every Panhellenic chapter on campus involved. You’ll go through a series of rounds where both you and the chapters figure out if it’s a good fit. It’s structured with dress codes and timelines, but that’s what makes it fair and gives everyone an equal shot at finding their people.

Below are some key details about Recruitment 2026. You can also check out our Recruitment Resources and FAQs!

PNM PREP DAY (8/11)

PNM Prep Day is exactly what it sounds like - PNMs preparing for the week ahead! On this day, you will be able to move into your residence hall early and unpack a little, meet our chapters and your Gamma Chi group, and learn all about the Primary Recruitment process.

Let's Talk About Recruitment Rounds

OPEN HOUSE (8/12)

Open House is where recruitment kicks off! You’ll get the chance to visit every chapter, meet lots of new faces, and get a feel for each house’s personality. It’s a little like speed-dating: quick conversations, lots of energy, and a great opportunity to make first connections across all eight chapters.

PHILANTHROPY (8/13)

Philanthropy is the second round, and it’s all about heart. You’ll learn which causes matter most to each chapter and see how our community comes together to make a difference. You’ll get to visit up to six chapters and discover the unique ways each one gives back.

SISTERHOOD (8/14)

Sisterhood is the third round, where you’ll get a closer look at the bonds that tie each chapter together. You’ll hear about big/little pairings, sisterhood events, and the fun traditions that make each house feel like a family. On this day, you can visit up to four chapters and imagine where you’ll fit in best.

PREFERENCE (8/15)

Preference is the final round. This is the moment when you get to choose where you feel most at home. Some students have one option, others two, but every experience is unique and special. You’ll visit up to two chapters and reflect on which one truly feels like your community.

  • After each round, you’ll have the chance to rank which chapters you’d like to visit next. Sometimes your top choices are clear, and other times it can feel overwhelming or confusing, and that’s totally normal! Just remember, you’re not alone in this. Your Gamma Chis are there every step of the way to help you talk through your options and support you as you make your decisions.

  • Remember, the chapters are also making decisions as you go. Sometimes you might not get invited back to a chapter you loved, or you might get an invite from a chapter you hadn’t thought much about. Try to stay open! You never know where you might find your perfect fit. If a chapter invites you back, it means they see something special in you and want to get to know you better.

BID DAY! (8/16)

Bid Day is the big celebration at the end of recruitment, and you finally find out which chapter you’ll be joining! It’s a day filled with excitement, hugs, laughter, and lots of glitter as new members run home from the Payne Center to the Village to be welcomed by their sisters. Family and friends are invited to join in the fun, making it a truly special moment you’ll always remember.
