Continuous Open Bidding (COB)

COB is a more relaxed way to join a sorority outside of primary recruitment. You still get all the great experiences of sisterhood, just on a different schedule! COB feels more like casual hangouts than a formal process. You only go to events that interest you, and there’s no pressure to visit every chapter.

Sororities host all kinds of fun, low-key events during COB (think game nights, bowling, or potlucks). These are a great chance to get to know the chapter at your own pace and see if it feels like home. These informal events will look different for each organization. COB events are designed to be less structured than primary recruitment, which can allow you to speak with more chapter members. These events may provide some insight into what being a member of that organization is like.

If a chapter wants to offer you a bid, they’ll reach out and let you know. If not, you can keep exploring other chapters or try again during the next recruitment period. If you get a bid during COB, the chapter will contact you directly, and many still have a Bid Day to celebrate and welcome you home! However you join, you’ll get to enjoy all the lifelong benefits of being part of a sorority.
